Prime Healthcare Services Foundation

The Prime Healthcare Services Foundation is a non-profit public charity that was founded by Dr. Prem Reddy and his family, reflecting their commitment to give back to the communities that they serve. The Foundation owns and operates five not-for-profit hospitals – Encino Hospital Medical Center, Huntington Beach Hospital, Montclair Hospital Medical Center, Sherman Oaks Hospital and, in Texas, Knapp Medical Center – and is governed by an independent Board of Directors.

Encino Hospital Medical Center and Huntington Beach Hospital have each been recognized as a "Top Performer on Key Quality Measures" by The Joint Commission, the leading Medicare accreditation organization in the nation. Knapp Medical Center has earned awards for information technology and patient quality. Montclair Hospital Medical Center was ranked as a Top 100 Hospital in the Nation in 2009, while Sherman Oaks Hospital has received Congressional Recognition for "Outstanding and Invaluable Service" to the community.

The Foundation has more than $100 Million in assets and is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Dr. Reddy, Dr. Kavitha Reddy Bhatia, a board certified pediatrician who grew up in the High Desert, Retired Chino Police Chief Eugene Hernandez, Montclair City Councilman William Ruh, and David Thorson, a community leader from the San Fernando Valley. Chief Hernandez, Councilman Ruh, and Mr. Thorson are all independent members of the board which means that the majority of the Board are independent directors. Each of these individuals is highly qualified and has a long track record of being involved in the community. The Foundation is a community asset, and its assets would be distributed to other charities in accordance with federal and state law if it ever ceased to exist.
