Prime Healthcare Recognized as Top 15 Health System in the Nation

Prime Healthcare was recognized as a Top 15 Health System in the nation in 2013. It also earned the distinction in 2012 and 2009.

Eight Prime Healthcare Hospitals in California were recognized among the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation in 2013. Desert Valley Hospital has earned the honor seven times, including 2013. West Anaheim Medical Center has earned it four times, including 2013. Centinela Hospital Medical Center, Chino Valley Medical Center, Garden Grove Community Hospital, and the non-profit Montclair Hospital Medical Center were also recognized, each for the second time, in 2013, as well as San Dimas Community Hosital and Shasta Regional Medical Center, earning their first recognition in this list.

With nearly 3,000 U.S. hospitals surveyed, the hospitals demonstrated that high-quality patient outcomes can be achieved while improving efficiency. If all hospitals performed at the same level as the 100 Top Hospitals award winners:

  • More than 164,000 additional lives could be saved.
  • Nearly 82,000 additional patients could be complication free.
  • $6 billion could be saved.
  • The average patient stay would decrease by nearly half a day.

In 2012, eight Prime Healthcare hospitals were ranked as "Top Performers on Key Quality Measures" by the Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations. See more here.
