Dr. Prem Reddy Honored By Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego

Ontario, Calif., April 30, 2012 – Prem Reddy, M.D., FACC, FCCP, Chairman, President and CEO of Prime Healthcare Services, was honored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego at the Club's 50th Annual Golden Achievement Awards Dinner for his philanthropic contributions.

Dr. Reddy and his family founded the Prem Reddy Foundation, the Desert Valley Charitable Foundation and the Prime Healthcare Foundation, which have donated over $300 million toward free medical care, medical clinics, student scholarships and converting for-profit hospitals to nonprofits. The foundations reflect the commitment that Dr. Reddy and his family have to giving back to communities that they serve.

"Dr. Reddy's innovative, visionary leadership in the healthcare industry illustrates his tireless efforts to improve quality of life in the communities that he serves," said Board Member Allie Pruitt. "Over the past five years, it has been my pleasure to be associated with the Prime Healthcare family, which demands and does not accept anything less than excellence. It has been my honor to work with Dr. Reddy."

On April 19, 2012, the City Council of the City of San Diego honored Dr. Reddy by proclaiming it as Dr. Prem Reddy Day throughout San Diego County.

"This honor is especially gratifying to me because the Boys & Girls Clubs offers children the opportunity to live their dreams," said Dr. Reddy. "Coming from rural India, where there was no electricity or potable water, I know how important it is to have that opportunity and dream. I'm both humbled and pleased that I could be a part of this celebration."

Dr. Reddy is a double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and was awarded the honor of becoming a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He practiced interventional cardiology for 30 years before founding Prime Healthcare.

Dr. Reddy founded Prime Healthcare Services in 2001. He has since built a healthcare system with 16 hospitals in California, Pennsylvania and Texas. Prime Healthcare was named one of the 2012 15 Top Health Systems in the nation by Thompson Reuters, which illustrates the high-quality, efficient, patient-centered care provided by his facilities, including Paradise Valley and Alvarado hospitals in San Diego.

Dr. Reddy's accomplishments include:

· Modern Healthcare Magazine's 50 Most Influential Physician Executives in Healthcare (2012)

· Modern Healthcare magazine's Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare (2008)

· Becker's Hospital Review Journal's Top 50 Physician Leaders of Hospitals and Healthcare Systems (2009 and 2010)
