Prime Healthcare Services Acquires Roxborough Memorial Hospital from Solis Healthcare

Ontario, Calif., Feb. 22, 2012 – Prime Healthcare Services announced today that it has acquired Roxborough Memorial Hospital, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from Solis Healthcare. Roxborough Memorial is an award-winning 140-bed acute care hospital that serves the healthcare needs of residents in Roxborough, Manayunk, East Falls and the surrounding areas of Northwest Philadelphia and Montgomery County.

"We look forward to improving the already excellent care provided at Roxborough Memorial Hospital and continuing the strong relationships with the local physicians and community," said Prem Reddy, M.D., FACC, FCCP, Chairman of Prime Healthcare Services. "I'm especially pleased to be associated with the residency programs and school of nursing and plan to continue their admirable and important work."

In a "Best in Value" study of 1,500 hospitals in the country's 100 largest cities conducted by Data Advantage, Roxborough Memorial Hospital was rated first among 35 general acute care hospitals in the Philadelphia market and among the top 100 nationally. It is a fully licensed acute care facility, accredited by the Joint Commission, the leading accreditation organization in the country. Like many other stand alone community hospitals across the country, Roxborough Memorial Hospital requires the financial resources of a larger system like Prime Healthcare to ensure its survival for years to come.

"As one of the top 15 hospital systems in the nation, Prime Healthcare is the right partner for Roxborough Memorial Hospital," said Robert G. Souaid, President and Chief Executive Officer of Solis Healthcare. "With Prime Healthcare's expertise, the hospital will continue its focus on community hospital-based healthcare delivery, and its commitment to excellence."

Roxborough Memorial supports the nationally recognized Roxborough Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Program, the Roxborough Graduate Medical Education Program, which is affiliated with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Roxborough School of Nursing. In 2010, the nursing school achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, the only program in Eastern Pennsylvania to achieve this distinction.
