
Harsha Upadhyay
Chief Executive Officer, Region III
Harsha Upadhyay, MBA, MS, CSHA, CPHQ, currently serves as Chief Executive
Officer of Region III of Prime Healthcare. In his role, Mr. Upadhyay has
operational responsibilities for Prime Healthcare’s hospitals in
Alabama, Georgia, and Texas.
Mr. Upadhyay has served Prime Healthcare for over 12 years and has held
various leadership positions, including his most recent role as the Executive
Vice President of Clinical Operations, providing leadership in Clinical
and Patient Care Services, including transitioning new hospitals (for
profit, not for profit and independent) to Prime Healthcare. Mr. Upadhyay
has spearheaded system-wide programs and has been instrumental in successfully
leveraging efficiencies in Clinical Operations, Quality, Patient Safety
and Accreditation in all Prime Healthcare hospitals. With his leadership
and direction, many Prime hospitals have received national recognition
and accolades such as 100 Top Hospitals achievement and Key Quality Awards.
Prior to joining Prime Healthcare, Mr. Upadhyay held leadership positions
with Vanguard Health System in Orange County Hospital and University of
California, Los Angeles Medical Center where he focused on Patient Safety
and Accreditation operations.
Mr. Upadhyay holds a Master in Business Administration in Hospital Administration
(five year integrated program graduating in Medicine and Management) and
also a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Management. He is a Certified
Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a Certified Specialist in
Healthcare Accreditation (CSHA). Mr. Upadhyay is a national speaker and
an expert in healthcare certification and accreditation. He maintains
professional memberships with California Association for Healthcare Quality,
Association for Healthcare Accreditation Professionals and the American
College of Healthcare Executives.
