Three Prime Healthcare Hospitals’ Heart Failure Mortality Rates Among Lowest in the Nation
Ontario, Calif., September 19, 2014 – The heart failure mortality rates at three Prime Healthcare Services hospitals are among the lowest in the nation, according to CMS data published by Beckers Hospital Review on Sept. 18, 2014.
Centinela Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) in Inglewood, Calif. made the top of Beckers' list of 48 hospitals, with a 30-day heart failure mortality rate of 6.4, the lowest in the nation. By comparison, the national rate of 30-day mortality for heart failure is 11.7.
Other Prime Healthcare hospitals making the list were Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, Calif., with a 30-day heart failure mortality rate of 8.2, and Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville, Calif., with a rate of 8.4.

Beckers conducted its survey using data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Hospital Compare database. The list reflects data collected from July 2009 through June 2012.
