Dr. Prem Reddy Once Again Recognized Among the Most Influential Healthcare Leaders in the Nation

(Ontario, Calif., September 5, 2017) – Prem Reddy, MD, FACC, FCCP, Chairman, President and CEO of Prime Healthcare, has once again been named to Modern Healthcare’s prestigious list of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” for 2017. This is the fourth time that Dr. Reddy has been recognized as among the most influential healthcare leaders in the nation.

Arizona Senator John McCain led the Modern Healthcare list this year. Dr. Reddy, a board certified cardiologist, joins a prestigious and varied group ranging from leaders of the nation’s largest payers and providers to cabinet members and Congressional representatives. Among this year’s honorees are Dr. John Noseworthy, President and CEO of the Mayo Clinic; Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell; Joseph Swedish, Chairman, President and CEO of Anthem; and Trevor Fetter, Chairman and CEO of Tenet Healthcare Corp. In addition to Senator McCain, Modern Healthcare also recognized two other Senators – Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine – for breaking ranks with their party and playing a pivotal role in changing the direction of the health care reform debate.

Dr. Reddy was also recognized this week on Becker's Hospital Review's List of 112 Physician Leaders to Know, 2017. He has appeared nine times on Modern Healthcare’s “50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders.”

Modern Healthcare’s list is a compilation based on more than 6,800 submissions from the publication’s readers and nearly 74,000 votes. Reader votes made up 50 percent of the final outcome; Modern Healthcare’s senior editors’ votes made up the other 50 percent. This was the 16^th year Modern Healthcare has published the list, which recognizes “the most influential individuals in the industry, in terms of leadership and impact.”

Dr. Reddy is a generous leader, donating millions toward charities that provide educational scholarships and free healthcare. Through his charitable foundations, he has donated more than $800 million to fund not for profit hospitals, charitable missions and universities, including the creation of a new, non-profit medical school that will be located in San Bernardino County, California.
