Centinela Hospital Rated as Having the Lowest Pneumonia 30-day Mortality Rate in the Nation
Inglewood, CA, November 5, 2015 – According to the most recent Becker's Hospital Review's
Infection Control and Clinical Quality Report, 57 hospitals across the nation were ranked as having the lowest pneumonia 30 day mortality rate in the nation. Centinela Hospital Medical Center's rate of 6.9% was the lowest of the 57 hospitals ranked. The 30-day death (mortality) measure is an estimate of deaths from any cause within 30 days of a hospital admission, for patients hospitalized with pneumonia.

For comparison, the national rate of 30-day mortality for pneumonia is 11.5%. All data was taken from CMS' Hospital Compare system. These rates reflect data measured from July 2011 through June 2014, the most recent data available.
