A Nurse Becomes the Patient: Michelle’s Story of Quick Care and Teamwork at San Dimas Community Hospital
Meet Michelle. A dedicated nurse from Wyoming, Michelle was working at San Dimas (Calif.) Community Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, when the unexpected occurred. During one of her shifts on the MST (Med/Surge Telemetry) unit, Michelle experienced a sudden and unexpected seizure. In that critical moment, the team’s swift response made all the difference.
From the moment Michelle collapsed, her colleagues sprang into action, providing immediate and expert care. Their quick thinking and teamwork not only stabilized her but also exemplified the deep sense of community and support that defines San Dimas Community Hospital. Reflecting on her experience, Michelle shared, “I am very healthy and never had this happen to me before. I am so grateful that my coworkers were able to quickly care for me on the spot. They are such a blessing. Everybody watches out for one another.”
We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of the San Dimas Community Hospital and Prime Healthcare family. Her story is a testament to the exceptional care and close-knit community that make our hospitals a place where both patients and staff feel at home.
